Social Commitment
Medicine is a helping profession. Though we at Prosurgicare believe in helping others, it is our belief that patients help us to become better physicians. Therefore, Prosurgicare looks for opportunities to assist those less fortunate not only in Jamaica but overseas. On a regular basis, Dr. Hochtritt participates in Interplast missions to Mangu, a small town in the northern part of Nigeria to deliver plastic surgical care to residents that are unable to afford it. Besides delivering surgical services and after care, he also teaches basic plastic surgical skills to the doctors and nurses that live and work in Mangu.

After breast cancer and a mastectomy I opted for breast reconstruction. To see what the possibilities were for me , I made an appointment with Dr. J. Hochtritt. There were several options for reconstruction I finally opted for a DIEP flap ( deep inferior epigastric perforators ). Last year Dr. J. Hochtritt has done this specific surgery.
